STORYWORK
                INTENSIVES

with Cathy Loerzel and Karrie Garcia

Storywork Intensives offer a space to intentionally deep dive into your stories of heartache and trauma. Engaging your stories will help us understand more of your family of origin and its link to where you are struggling to find freedom, joy and connection in the present.

The intensive format is intended to engage your core issues quickly, but is not intended to replace regular therapeutic engagement. Please ensure you have an after-care plan in place prior to the intensive.

WHY STORYWORK

The world is hurting. We are filled with anxiety, shame, depression and hopelessness and it is descending us into broken relationships, addictions and despair. We are a fragmented society that is finding its only solace in division, dysregulation and distraction.

WHAT WE WILL COVER

  • How your stories of childhood harm and heartache are connected to feeling anxious, disconnected, depressed, sad or fearful.

  • How to engage your stories to help us understand more of your family of origin and its link to where you are struggling to find freedom, joy and connection in the present.

  • What it means for our life to be understood and healed and how to be brave enough to listen to what our bodies know but our minds are catching up to.

WHAT WE’RE INVITING YOU INTO

Join us in being radically committed to your own healing journey and choose the hopeful stance that healing and maturity is possible. Invest in Storywork and risk that maybe, just maybe, there is more to this wild and beautiful life than you could have imagined. There is a path toward wholeness.

There is hope, you do not have to suffer alone. Healing is possible. Reserve your spot today.

STORYWORK TWO-DAY GROUP INTENSIVE

Some of the most profound healing occurs in community. Storywork Group Intensives offer a chance to gather with other people and lean into our stories collectively as well as individually. Each person is invited to share one story and will receive engagement from me and the group.

Cathy Loerzel

I received my MACP in Psychology in 2007 from The Seattle School of Theology and founded The Allender Center with Dan Allender in 2010. I’ve spent the last 15 years developing the theory and methodology of a popular new coaching and therapeutic approach called Story Work that moves people through their past stories of heartache to heal and discover healthier ways of being in the world. This past year, Dan and I wrote Redeeming Heartache and it was a joy to create.

I believe that if we are honest, we know that none of us have escaped heartache and trauma in this beautifully broken world. The question then is how we heal in order not just to make it through, but truly thrive in the light of all that God would hope for us. Storywork will help you understand how harm and heartache have come into your life and what you have done to protect yourself from it in both brilliant and heartbreaking ways. It will then usher you into the radically hopeful call to remember your name and join God in the redemptive arc of the gospel that is still alive and well and wooing us to be honest, grieve, and repair that which has been shattered and join Jesus in breathing new life into this shattered world, starting with our own hearts.

Karrie Garcia

As a pastor, life coach, author and CEO, Karrie Garcia has been inspiring change in others by
boldly sharing her journey to freedom. Karrie is not afraid to wade through deep waters, because she has seen firsthand how God’s true redemptive purpose for our lives does not begin once we’re free from pain, rather it stems directly out of that pain.

Today, Karrie is on a mission to redefine freedom for others through her nonprofit, Freedom Movement. Since 2014, she has fostered an environment at Freedom Movement where anyone can begin to process and heal, whether they’re taking their first or their last step on the road to freedom through the organization’s tours, events, workshops and one-on-one coaching. Karrie is also the author of The Exchange, an interactive nine-week course through which she guides individuals and groups from hurting to hope with readings, videos and reflections.
